We took a very young Crescent Moon’s Emirus out on the road last fall where he tore up the show ring in the gray male classes, especially considering he was a juvenile just 7 months of age. Admittedly, the long miles on crowded trailers beat up his fleece as usually happens with those juvenile fleeces, such that by the time Nationals was completed, Emirus was about done for the year. That said, a pretty fleece is a pretty fleece, and you will see that come auction time. As for Crescent Moon’s Emirus he is just a great alpaca! He is easy to handle and easy on the eyes the way a herdsire should be. His full sister of a few years ago, Crescent Moon’s Euphoria was also a champion and sold to Skyline Alpacas at the Amber Autumn Invitational Sale in Phoenix just before the pandemic arrived. Emirus will be great addition to anyone’s herdsire stable especially if they breed for gray alpacas.
